The road to the playoffs is being paved and the Rangers do not have an easy path. After a hard fought series loss in Seattle, there is no lightening up for the foreseeable future.
In the next three weeks, the Rangers will host series against the Yankees, Phillies, Diamondbacks before traveling to the Blue Jays and Royals. All of these series will be extremely difficult to win outside of the Arizona series.
While they do host a good amount of those series, this is the most crucial part of the schedule that will be difficult from here on out but nothing worth doing is easy.
It is hard to not emphasize how important specifically the Blue Jays and Yankees series are. Both of those teams are leaders for the playoffs in the standings that are fighting for a divisional or wild card spot. The AL East as a whole is the main holders of two of the wild card spots as well.
We have received recent developments in these series that have made this stretch less brutal. Aaron Judge is expected to return mid series but will miss at least one games barring setbacks and the Diamondbacks sold at the deadline making them less of a threat.
Knocking off competition and stacking wins is the name of the game when it comes to sports. It is much easier said than done. The Rangers cannot show up to any of these August series without bringing major offense to compliment their dangerous pitching staff.
It is a tough draw that could be seen all season long as and incredibly difficult stretch of games. The Rangers have forced this need for perfection on themselves after their putrid start to the year before the recent hot streak.
With the right guys starting to get healthy and the recent purchase of multiple arms, there is certainly the talent to win them all. The question has changed from when will they put it all together for a long stretch of a month, but rather if they will do that.
