As the Texas Rangers' Double-A Affiliate in Frisco enters its first weekend of the season, they are 4-2 driven by an electric offense that has scored 46 runs and backed by a trio of some of the organization's top arms.

While the Rangers' farm system isn't the strongest in baseball, there is a plethora of pitching talent on rosters of the team's four minor league teams that are slowly making big time headlines. Three of those pitchers are situated in the top half of the Roughrider's weekly rotation.

Davalilllo, Lopez and Santos among Rangers' top 15 prospects

The Roughriders can make a case of having one of the best rotations in all of Minor League Baseball, if not the best among all 30 Double-A organizations thanks to right-handers David Davalillo, Leandro Lopez and Winston Santos.

All three are 24 years of ago or younger and got their first taste of Double-A action midway through the 2025 season. After impressing their and getting a chance to showcase a bit of their skills either in the Arizona Fall League of spring training, they returned to Frisco ready to rise up the ranks.

While Santos' first outing of the season against Corpus Christi wasn't as strong, it wasn't overly disappointing only going 2.1 innings and allowing one run. For Davalillo and Lopez it was very promising, tossing a combined 15.2 scoreless innings but walked away with no decisions.

Right now, all three of these arms are featured in the Rangers' top 15 prospects with Santos leading at No. 5, Davalillo at No. 7 and Lopez at No. 14.

Frisco's whole roster is a glimpse into Rangers' future

In addition to these three pitchers that spotlight the Roughriders' rotation, the offense also features yet another top 15 player in outfielder Dylan Dreiling.

Dreiling, 22, was the team's second round pick in 2024 after winning the College World Series with Tennessee and earning the CWS Most Valuable Player, hitting home runs in all three championship games against Texas A&M.

Dreiling is hot to start the year, batting .321 with two home runs, seven RBIs, five runs, .425 on-base percentage and .995 OPS. Texas has been patiently waiting for Dreiling to adjust to professional pitchers and after a solid Arizona Fall League in October, he's kicking it into full gear.

The roster might have been even better as well if it wasn't for the organization's top overall prospect Sebastian Walcott tearing his UCL early in spring training. The 19-year-old was set to start the year in Frisco but likely won't see the field at all this year.
