If the Texas Rangers are going to find a way to make it to the postseason this year, they're going to need to have several of their Plan B players step up big time. The club is the walking wounded right now, with the previous loss of Evan Carter and Marcus Semien for the rest of the season. And then on Tuesday, they announced that Nathan Eovaldi will likely miss the rest of the year as well.

One "Plan B" player did step up on Tuesday night in game two of a pivotal series against the Los Angeles Angels. Patrick Corbin, who had been absolutely brutal in his last four starts, found the magic that powered him in the first half of the season.

Corbin dealt eight scoreless innings, while the offense exploded early and often, carrying the Texas Rangers to a 7-3 win over the Angels to even the three-game set at Globe Life Field. The southpaw hadn't pitched into the seventh inning since June 6, when he threw eight innings of two-run ball in a loss to the Nationals in D.C. He hadn't even completed a full five innings in the month of August. It's still a very long shot for Bruce Bochey's squad to make the playoffs, but they're only 4.5 games behind the Wild Card coming into Wednesday.

Tyler 'Stone Cold' Phillips has the best entrance of any former Texas Rangers reliever

While closer entrances with crazy music were more popular a few decades ago, there are still some teams that use it to get both the reliever and the fans hyped in the 9th inning. One of those who still uses a rather crazy entrance is none other than former Rangers reliever, Tyler Phillips.

Now with the Miami Marlins, Phillips goes all out, slapping himself silly right before the glass shatters for 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's iconic entrance music, followed by a light show. It is truly a sight to behold, and the description doesn't really do it justice. Check it out below:

Nathaniel Lowe is showing he's still got something left in the tank.

Over the offseason, the Rangers parted with World Series hero Nathaniel Lowe, and there were more than a few Texas fans who weren't happy about the situation. Then he had a truly awful 2025 season with the Nationals, and it appeared he just might be washed. Washington even released him.

The Boston Red Sox decided he still had something to offer a contending team, and for now, they're right. In eight games since joining the Sox, Lowe is slashing .348/.429/.565/.994 with a home run and 7 RBI.
