In what was mostly a year to forget for the Texas Rangers' offense, there was one notable bright spot. Outfielder Wyatt Langford managed to improve upon his rookie numbers and join the 20 home run and 20 stolen base club.

The speedy left fielder smacked 22 dingers and swiped 22 bases in 2025. He bettered his marks of 16 HRs and 19 SBs from his 2024 rookie campaign despite being on the IL twice and having ten fewer at-bats.

That trajectory suggests he will do even better in 2026. In fact, MLB.com is predicting that Langford will hit the elite 30/30 club next season.

Langford would be just the third Ranger to join the 30-30 club and the youngest ever

In the 53-year history of the Texas Rangers organization, only Alfonso Soriano (2005) and Ian Kinsler (2009, 2011) have managed to combine such an elite level of both power at the plate and speed on the basepaths.

If the MLB.com prediction comes true for Langford, he will be the youngest member of the 30-30 club at just 24 years old. Soriano accomplished the feat at 29, while Kinsler did it during his 27 and 29-year-old seasons.

Langford will need to stay healthy to reach the milestone

Despite being in good physical condition, Langford has had nagging injuries shorten both of his first two major league seasons. Last year, it was an adductor strain that limited him to 134 games played.

It's too early to tell just how good Langford will ultimately be, but if he is going to reach the elite 30-30 club and continue to progress toward his promising ceiling, he will need to stay healthy and get closer to 600 at-bats. He has yet to have a season with at least 500 at-bats.

Rangers fans would love to see the uber-talented outfielder make a run at the mark, as it would likely be a good indicator that the team is being more productive than they were last season. If Langford joins the elite club and the rest of the offense improves with the addition of Brandon Nimmo, Texas may return to the postseason in 2026.
