MLB Network has begun revealing its top 100 players for the 2026 season, and two Texas Rangers have made the cut so far.
A starting pitcher and an outfielder cracked the top 70 players as MLB Network has only released the top 100-60.
Young Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford sneaks inside the top 70
Entering his third full season in the league, big things are still being expected of the power-hitting speedster who crossed the 20-20 milestone last year, smashing 22 homers and stealing 22 bases. During his 20-20 season, Langford posted 5.4 bWAR and a .241/.344/.431 slash line.
Langford also proved that he has the makings of a great defensive player by earning his first Gold Glove nomination for his stellar work in left field. Last season, he provided Texas with 10 Outs Above Average, which ranked in the 96th percentile.
Being ranked 69th on this list proves that it's not only Ranger fans who believe Langford can become a perennial All-Star caliber performer, but that the national media has noticed his undeniable talent, and expects him to get even better in 2026.
Rangers righty pitcher Nathan Eovaldi is still underrated, coming in at #64 on the list
A late-season arm injury prevented Nathan Eovaldi from contending for the 2025 AL Cy Young award. He had the best statistical season of his career, notching 11 wins against just 3 losses with an ERA of just 1.73 and a ridiculous WHIP of .085 over 130 innings pitched.
Evo will turn 36 in February, and it is likely the only reason he is not higher on the list, as he has proven during his time in Arlington that, when healthy, he is a top 5 starter in the league.
Expect to see Corey Seager, Jacob deGrom's names when MLB Network reveals top 60 players in coming days
His teammate, Jacob deGrom, is the same age and, along with shortstop Corey Seager, will see their names revealed at some point as MLB Network unveils its top 60 in the coming days.
It could be argued that Eovaldi has been as good or better than deGrom, but doesn't have the same amount of hardware on his mantle, which may be the only real difference at this point in their careers. Regardless, Rangers fans are lucky they get to watch both aces on their favorite team. Let's just hope they both stay healthy next season.
