The adjustment to big league pitching for a young player getting his feet wet is always a steep learning curve. Alejandro Osuna was no exception as he struggled in his first few weeks as a Texas Ranger.
But recently, Osuna, who plays with a refreshing youthful exuberance, appears to have turned a corner offensively and will look to continue his hot streak as the Rangers head west for a long 10-game road trip in San Diego and L.A. before going to Houston.
Osuna connected for his first Major League home run recently
After a rough 8-50 start, the Rangers rookie got a huge monkey off his back, hitting a laser over the right field wall, for his first big leaguer homer in the team's 10-2 win on Tuesday.
It was off of Baltimore Orioles reliever Matt Bowman, who tried to sneak an 89 mph cutter in,. But the outfielder was ready and yanked a two-run frozen rope 383 feet and eight rows deep into the right field bleachers. The exit velocity on the homer was an impressive 109 mph.
You could see the relief on the youngster's face as he rounded the bases and got into the dugout where he was animated telling his teammates all about it.

Osuna followed up his first homer with his second multi-hit game of the season
A night after homering, Osuna was brimming with confidence and collected two more hits in the Rangers' 6-0 blanking of the Orioles.
Hopefully, he can keep the good times rolling on the road trip and convince Bruce Bochy that he deserves more at-bats once outfielders Wyatt Langford and Evan Carter return in the coming days.
He's playing a plus left field for the Rangers, and even though the Rangers outfield is about to get more crowded, the talented rookie should still have a significant role as his bat is just starting to heat up.
