The Texas Rangers return to Globe Life park for a 6 home games to finish off the 2016 regular season and will be sending starting pitcher Martin Perez to the mound to take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Ranger fans should be confident that Perez will deliver a win at home on Monday.

Texas Rangers’ Martin Perez has been 2 different pitchers this year while establishing a record of 10-10 through 31 starts in 2016. One pitcher is 2-8 with an ERA of 5.78 when he is not pitching in Arlington and the other is 8-2 with an 2.65 ERA when he is pitching in Arlington. This difference is frustrating as a fan to experience but as I said earlier, the Rangers are at home and we hopefully will see a good outing.

The Rangers opponent for Monday night will be a  Milwaukee team that has a record of 70-86 so these Rangers should roll, right? Well the Texas Rangers have not been all that well against bad teams this year but after a weekend in which manager Jeff Banister gave some routine guys some rest, they will be rolling out the usual lineup for Monday’s game.

These Brewers are in full rebuild mode as they made multiple trades this year with the premier one happening when they sent catcher Jonathan Lucroy and Jeremy Jeffress to the Rangers. Those won’t be the only familiar faces that these two teams will notice, starting pitcher Matt Garza had a stint as a Texas Ranger. Garza will attempt to change his recent struggling ways as he has gone 0-2 over his last 3 starts with an ERA of 4.20.

The Rangers offense will look to take full advantage of Garza as this will be the first game back home since clinching their 2nd consecutive A.L. West title in as many years. Ranger fans will look to bring a massive amount of energy to the stadium as FSSW and 105.3 The Fan are sponsoring a “Red Out” for this three game series against the Milwaukee Brewers by providing very affordable discounted tickets.

Home field advantage is still up for grabs in the A.L. as the Boston Redsox have exploded for an 11 game win streak and are currently tied with the Rangers for that first place spot. The Cleveland Indians are just 1.5 games back from the Rangers and Redsox as well. The Rangers are currently 50-25 when playing at home in the 2016 season. Having home field advantage wouldn’t only be beneficial on the field but also it would be beneficial on the wallet of the Rangers.

The Rangers will most likely look to pursue Ian Desmond, Carlos Gomez, and possibly even extend Jonathan Lucroy this offseason and a few more home games could provide significant funds to assist in that effort.
