A great way for fans to further integrate themselves into the Major League Baseball regular season is by joining a fantasy baseball league and competing to see who has the best ball knowledge.

Every year, over 62 million people across the United States and Canada particpate in a fantasy baseball leage and this time of year is usually when drafts take place. Whether you are playing for bragging rights, a giant pot of money or for the love of the game, here's a few Texas Rangers' player who could make or break a team in 2026.

3 Texas Rangers players who would make great fantasy baseball picks in 2026

Jacob deGrom, RHP

This is an easy answer if you are eyeing an ace to anchor your pitching staff this season. After a bounce back 2025 season, it's a lot more of a comfortable bet this year after he made 30 starts, which was the most since his 2019 CY Young season.

deGrom, 37, is currently the 52nd overall player in this year's fantasy rankings, according to Fantasy Pros. There's room to be aggressive and draft him early but even in a 10-team league, he's likely to go in the third or fourth round.

Wyatt Langford, OF

Langford is a great choice, especially if the league you are in is a head-to-head cateogry league where every stat matters. This is a true all-around option because he's going to hit for a solid average, record at least 20 home runs, drive in runners and steal 20-30 bases.

Still underrated as well, the third year outfielder is ranked 77th overall, which is roughly an average draft position (ADP) in the late seventh to early eighth round. If you are eyeing a hitter at that point, it's either Langford or similar options like Brice Turang, Matt Olson, Shea Langeliers or Langford's newest teammate Brandon Nimmo.

2 Rangers to pass on in a fantasy baseball draft

Jake Burger, 1B/DH

Entering 2026, the Rangers still expect a lot to come from Burger, who they traded three young prospects to Miami for prior to last season. While his early spring success does show a positive sign that he will turn it around, drafting him is still a risk to be taken with caution.

The main issue he will deal with is the ability to stay on the field after three seperate IL stints last season. He compiled that with poor play when he was on the field and in the Rangers' lineup. The 29-year-old first baseman can hit 20+ home runs and 80+ RBIs and if you want to take a risk by all means, but I am not moved until he can stay healthy.

Joc Pederson, DH

While I believe Pederson's 2026 season will be better than last season (kinda hard not to be), I wouldn't put a lot of attention into drafting him this season. Not even sitting among ESPN's top 300 rankings, he's also just the 8th best DH in the top 15.

Listed as a potential bounce back candidate, Pederson still remains an unknown to Rangers' fans. We know what he's capable of but even projections have him hitting just .233 with 15 home runs and less than 50 RBIs. Big gamble to play, especially when Pederson can only be used in a DH or UT slot.
