Tanner Scheppers Back on the DL
By Ben Dieter

It looks like David was right earlier today when he wrote this. Today the Texas Rangers announced that Tanner Scheppers is going back on the 15 day disabled list with elbow inflammation. Tanners is starting to look more and more like a candidate for surgery at some point in my opinion, even though no one has said that yet. Ever since the Texas Rangers decided to stretch him out and try to make him a starter, it appears that he just has not been the same. The same sort of thing happened to Neftali Feliz, who went from being an all star closer to now not being able to make it back to the big leagues.
Tanner Scheppers was being groomed last season to be the next closer by Joe Nathan, and I am wondering if the Texas Rangers are now thinking that they should have gone that route with Tanner instead of the starter route. The Rangers have called up Ben Rowen to take Scheppers place in the bull pen.

Rowen is 1-0 with a 2.75 ERA in 16 relief appearances with the Round Rock Express this season so far. I very much expect to see him get into the game tonight, as Ron Washington has not wasted any time in getting his called up players into games this season.
Also, in other injury news outfielder Jim Adduci had two screws inserted into his pinky according to Anthony Andro of FSSW.

So, the Texas Rangers re-injury train rolls on, taking both Adduci and Tanner Scheppers again. At least Yu Darvish is on the mound again tonight!
