Joey Gallo Continues to Light it Up
It’s not very often that a prospect gets written about as much as Joey Gallo, but then again it is not that often that a prospect like Joey Gallo comes along. He was promoted to the Frisco Rough Riders a couple of days ago and has done nothing but impress since arriving. Texas Rangers fans are already clamoring to know when the 20-year-old third baseman will get his first shot at the majors.
Joey Gallo, so far in two games at the AA level of play has hit a walk off home run in his first game, and has gone 3-7 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI already. Joey Gallo is an all or nothing type of player right now. He has struck out 3 times as well.

I tend to agree with Jeff Wilson, and I don’t see much of a chance of Gallo making it to the majors this season. Of course I would have said the same thing about

The Texas Rangers season is getting dangerously close to being over, and I don’t see them being one or two pieces away from putting together a winning team. Therefore, there is no need to trade away all of this talent they have to try and win now. It should be fun to watch Joey Gallo hit AA pitching the rest of the season, and he is something to get excited about in an otherwise disappointing season for Texas Rangers fans.
