Texas Rangers Need to Finish Strong

So what did we learn yesterday? We learned that Nick Tepesch is still up and down, because he is young. We learned that the Athletics like to take pitches. We learned that they are still he best team in the West right now.

The Texas Rangers are 3-3 so far on this 9 game road trip, with only 3 games left to go. They need to finish strong by winning the series against the Angels. Some believe that this is a do or die road trip for the Texas Rangers, but I am not one to subscribe to that opinion this early in the season, there is still way too much baseball to be played. However, a 5-4 road trip sounds light years better than a 4-5 road trip.

More from Texas Rangers News

The Texas Rangers have only played the Angels once so far this season, and they won the series, of course there are a whole lot of different players now then there were then. And the Angels have Josh Hamilton back and Albert Pujols is playing like the old Albert Pujols again. The Rangers will send Joe Saunders, who has been pitching well of late, Nick Martinez, another one of the young guys that are doing well some times and not so well other times, and on Sunday night Baseball they will send Yu Darvish to the hill.

The Texas Rangers have a great opportunity to finish this road trip strong with Saunders and Darvish on the hill for two of the three games, and I believe that Saunders will be highly motivated facing his former team. While it is not the end of the world if the Rangers lose two out of three this weekend, it’s not a good thing either. I believe that this young team still has some life left in them, some gas left in the tank if you will, and I am really hoping that they prove that out this weekend.
