For Texas Rangers, Future Looks Bright

The Texas Rangers are starting to look like they are going to be pretty good come 2015. It is too early to deem Neftali Feliz a legitimate closer again, but he has looked good in his three opportunities so far. Neal Cotts wasn’t traded, and that may mean the Texas Rangers will hold on to him for next season. Derek Holland is rehabbing, and will be back with the Texas Rangers by late August or early September.

Let’s not forget the rest of the DL that will return in 2015: Tanner Scheppers, Alexi Ogando, Robbie Ross (not on the DL but I would imagine will be back with the big club this September), Prince Fielder, Mitch Moreland, Engle Beltre, Martin Perez and maybe Geovany Soto. And now the Texas Rangers have given some big league experience to guys like Michael Choice, Jim Adduci, Jake Smolinski, Rougned Odor, Robinson Chirinos and Daniel Robertson.

And then there is the hope that the greatness of Joey Gallo will make it to the show at some point of the 2015 season. But there is more than Gallo. There is Jorge Alfaro, Alex Gonzalez, Luis Sardinas, Luke Jackson and others. This organization is stacked with talent at all levels, and I believe that it is going to show in 2015.

So enjoy the ever improving Texas Rangers of 2014, and remember that 2015 is looking like it has the chance to be another 90 win season, and that is without the Texas Rangers making any moves to improve the pitching (which they will need to do) or the hitting. Derek Holland and Prince Fielder will do that. I am ready for 2015 to get here!
