Over his last 10 games he has batted .295 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 7 RBI, which was enough to earn him the player of the week in the Carolina League.

Alfaro is said to have excellent reflexes behind the plate, which allows him to easily block balls in the dirt.  Also, he shown the ability to command a game and is able to work well with pitchers.  He’s also good at framing pitches in the strike zone to help give his pitchers more strike calls. In the past his disciple at the plate was lacking, but this season he seems to be a lot better.  He’s shown more power this year and consistency.  Alfaro probably won’t be called up to the Texas Rangers anytime soon, but he is the future.
