Bullpen Struggles, Rangers Fall To Orioles
By Kenneth Nash

126. Final. 11. 11. 5
The Texas Rangers were unable to hold off the power of the Baltimore Orioles lineup and fell 11-5 to the O’s on Friday.
On The Mound
The Texas Rangers handed the ball to lefty Martin Perez on Friday as they took on the AL East leading Baltimore Orioles. Perez, entering the game with an 0-1 record, was effective on the mound for Texas. He went 6 innings allowing only three runs, two earned, on six hits while striking out six.
When Perez left the ballgame, he was in line for the win but the bullpen was unable to keep hold of the lead. Going into the seventh inning, Texas led 11-5, but gave up nine runs in the seventh eventually leading to the loss. Tom Wilhelmsen took the loss for Texas throwing just .2 innings giving up five earned runs on five hits. Andrew Faulkner then entered the game and threw 1.1 innings giving up three earned runs on two hits.
At The Plate
The Texas Rangers drove in five runs on six hits in the game. Mitch Moreland hit his first homerun of the season, when he jumpstarted the Rangers offense in the second inning. Nomar Mazara kept his on base streak alive and has now reached base in each of his first six Major League games.
Elvis Andrus also continued to stay hot in the 2016 season, recording a hit in his fourth straight game. Elvis is now hitting .364 on the young season. Elvis is working to improve from a string of unimpressive seasons at the plate, and has seemed to improved his approach at the plate.
