Texas Rangers: Team Suffers Humiliating Defeat Against Arizona

The Texas Rangers’ three-game winning has been snapped. Today’s game concludes with a score of 12-0. Regrettably, negativity is back. With Opening Day less than three weeks away, Texas needs to quickly turn all the negatives back into positives.
Overall, a poor performance by both pitching and offense. The Texas Rangers came into this game with the intention of increasing the winning streak to four. Unfortunately, it did not happen.
It was a very long game for the offense. Going 7-for-33 and striking out eight times doesn’t lead to victories. Instead, it leads to a painful and humiliating defeat. Elvis Andrus made a brief appearance, going 0-for-2. James Loney and Joey Gallo both went 1-for-3. These two are expected to be named to the Opening Day roster. They’ve still got some holes to fill, but they’re getting somewhere. Right-fielder Travis Snider has struggled. It hasn’t been looking well for him and as far as him making the roster, it doesn’t look very good. But that’s a decision for manager Jeff Banister to make.

Chi-Chi Gonzalez started this game. He lasted 2.2 innings, allowing eight hits, surrendering eight runs, and striking out four batters. Gonzalez’s Spring Training hasn’t gone too bad. It’s unfortunate today turned out to be a bad day for him. But some games go well and some go bad. Gonzalez just needs to move on and focus on the future. Tony Barnette went 1.0 innings, allowing one hit, surrendering no runs, and striking out one batter. Tanner Scheppers also pitched one inning, allowing one hit, surrendering no runs, and striking out one. Jeremy Jeffress pitched an inning, allowing two hits, surrendering no runs and striking out one. Jose Leclerc went 1.1 innings, allowing two hits, surrendering three runs, and and striking out one.
Tomorrow, Texas takes on Cleveland. If Texas can beat the Tribe and get back on the win column, it’ll help for sure.
It’s only Spring Training, but there’s never a time where a team should never play their hearts out and make an effort to win the game. Winning must always be the ultimate goal. Meaningful game or not, winning is the top priority. Especially for the Texas Rangers.
