The Texas Rangers are now on a two-game losing streak. As a result of a humiliating 6-2 loss to the Houston Astros. Texas drops to 11-15 and 3-7 on the road, as well last in the American League West standings. They’re digging themselves deeper and deeper into this black hole. If they don’t turn things around soon, they’ll be so deep, it’ll be too late to recover in time.

What started out as a strong start for the Texas Rangers ended up as an embarrassing collapse. As a result, the stress level just increased among Rangers fans. Additionally, they can’t move forward this way.

Andrew Cashner was the starter. He pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three hits, three runs, and striking out only two batters. Therefore, he fell to 0-3.

Reliever Tony Barnette came in once Cashner was pulled. Lasted just 0.1 of an inning, allowing three hits, three runs, and striking no batters, earning his second blown save, in the process.

Dario Alvarez took over for the rest of the game. He pitched 1.2 innings, allowing two hits, no runs, and striking out two battes. However, his well-played performance wasn’t enough for Texas to come back.

Offense finished 6-for-31 and struck out 12 times. Consequently, the offense is still not awake. Elvis Andrus and Mike Napoli are the only ones with multiple hits. Five players in the batting lineup went hit-less. Things were okay when Texas jumped to a 2-1 lead, courtesy of a homer by Napoli. In the ninth with two on base and one out, Texas had a chance to spark a comeback, but it failed when it resulted in a double-play in Houston’s favor. Ultimately, five players left on base in this game.

Cole Hamels steps on the mound tomorrow night for Texas. He’s looking to go 3-0. In any case, he, the bullpen, and the offense must all be ready. They’re already deep in the black hole they’ve dug themselves in. They can’t afford to fall deeper. If they do, it’ll come to the point where there’s no way out.
