A.J. Griffin once again puts on an amazing show. This time in a dominating 11-0 victory for the Texas Rangers. After losing three straight games and four series, the Rangers need to pick it up. At the moment, they’re deep in the bottom of the American League, trailing only Toronto and San Francisco for last in the A.L.

The Texas Rangers are still in fifth place in the American League West standings with a 14-20 record. This 11-0 win is a way to turn things around this season. On a positive note, the offense awakened once again. However, let’s hope they’ll stay awake.

A.J. Griffin is showing more improvement. He pitched a full game, allowing just four hits, no runs, and striking out four batters, thus improving to 4-0 for the first time since 2012. It’s the fourth time this season, he’s ended a losing streak. At the moment, he’s the Rangers savior. However, the Rangers need to win when he’s not playing. He can’t be there every minute of the season. This is the first time he’s pitched a full 9-inning game since June 26th, 2013 against the Cincinnati Reds.

The offense finished 9-for-35 with eight strikeouts. The scoring of 11 runs is the second highest this season. Griffin was also part of the lineup, finishing 0-for-3, striking out three times. Three homers total, none of them being solos. Besides Griffin, Carlos Gomez is the only batter to finish this game hit-less. Rougned Odor and Joey Gallo both had two hits, both being the only players with multi-hits. Nomar Mazara finished 1-for-5. He’s still trying to dig himself out of his slump. As a matter of fact, the entire offense is trying to pull themselves out of this slump.

The Texas Rangers’ offense is second in the American League in homers with 47, trailing the New York Yankees who’ve blasted 50. However, they’re second-to-last in batting average as well as hits. The team’s batting average is .213 and they have 235 hits so far this season. Still a lot of baseball left, but it’s time for things to change for the better. The time to start is now.

The series continues tomorrow night in Arlington. Yu Darvish is stepping on the mound. Texas needs to keep winning. The time to turn this dreadful season around is now.
