The Texas Rangers amazingly give themselves a miraculous come-from-behind victory. As a result, Texas avoids a season-high six-game losing streak. After suffering a painful and humiliating sweeping at the hands of a mediocre Baltimore Orioles club, the Rangers needed a miracle.

Yu Darvish took the mound, hoping to avoid suffering his six straight loss, which would a be a career-high. Not that it’s bad enough that Texas came into this game 1-9 in Darvish’s previous ten starts. Darvish pitched 8.0 innings, allowing five hits, three runs, and striking out a season-high 12 batters, earning a no decision. As a result, Texas improves to 2-9 in the now last eleven Darvish starts. Furthermore, this is Darvish’s 32nd 10-strikeout game, thus Darvish breaking a tie with Hideo Nomo for most 10-strikeout games by a pitcher born in Japan in Major League Baseball history. On top of that, Darvish remains undefeated since his Tommy John Surgery in games where the Rangers score at least three runs, being 12-0, according to Evan Grant. In any case, Darvish must keep his head up.

Alex Claudio relieved Darvish in the ninth. He pitched the rest of the game, allowing one hit, no runs, and striking out no batters, improving to 2-0. In his last five appearances, Claudio only has allowed one hit while allowing no runs, and striking out three batters, earning two saves a win. In any case, he must keep up the good work.

The offense finished 7-for-35, striking out five times. Shin-Soo Choo extends his hitting streak to four games. Going 0-for-4, Rougned Odor’s four-game hitting is streak is over. Furthermore, Beltre passes Sam Rice for 31st in all-time hits in Major League Baseball history. Jonathan Lucroy and Mike Napoli both go hitless, Lucroy extending his hitless streak to three, and Napoli snapping his three-game hitting streak.

Andrew Cashner steps on the mound tomorrow night. Cashner leading Texas to a win gives Texas another series win which helps bring momentum. Regardless of the possibility of the Rangers making the playoffs, they need to play hard for pride. In any case, the Rangers must not revert to quitting.
