Every year a representative has to go for the Texas Rangers but that doesn't mean they were great their whole career.

Every year brings in a new batch of all-stars. This usually causes turmoil for 2 weeks and everyone forgets who made it within a year.

It is a celebration of a players season so far with the reward of going to the host city to represent the team they play for. Since every year a team has to have a representative, that means even the worst get somebody going.

All-star seasons are not just handed out unless your name is Jacob Misiorowski. Every player on this list earned their nod, but this is pointing out the "he made it" seasons of the Texas Rangers. This has lead to this list today highlighting that group of players.

Worst All-Stars in Texas Rangers history

Dave Nelson, 1973

One of the most prolific base stealers at the time saw his name be selected for the all star team for the only time in his career. The main problem with how good he was at stealing bases in his career, he didn't get on base very much in his career.

The career OBP of Nelson is .305 which makes his career 187 stolen bases seem much more impressive. In 1973, he saw his batting average and OBP reach a .287/.325 line allowing him to steal bases more frequently and earn his all-star spot.

He was certainly a good table setter that season and earned his spot. If it were today with how metrics are judged now, I'm not sure how he would be seen by fans. Regardless, he earned his 1973 all-star nod.

Jonah Heim, 2023

This might be a little too early to call for his career in Arlington. His recent numbers are showing that he capitalized on his career year at the right time.

Heim absolutely earned his spot on that midsummer classic team but hasn't done much since. He is a fan favorite that hurts to put on this list but recently has been showing his time is coming to an end.

Chris Young will have to make a tough decision soon on the catching situation and with Adolis Garcia. Until then, we will never forget 2023 Jonah Heim and what he contributed to winning that 2023 title.

Aaron Sele, 1998

The 1998 Texas Rangers are one of the most talented teams in franchise history. Despite the talent on the roster and not needing a give away representative, Aaron Sele found himself on the midsummer classic.

Sele carried a 4.04 first half ERA with a 12-5 record into the break. He only had 102 strikeouts in 118 innings and likely just happened to find himself on the team of the summer that year.

Sele carved out a long career in the MLB and even made another all-star game. When it comes to 1998, it does seem like he rode into there with Pudge Rodriguez and MVP winner Juan Gonzalez with a good win-loss record.
