3 Rangers minor leaguers whose stellar seasons have flown under the radar

In-the-know Texas Rangers fans are already aware of the top Rangers prospects like Sebastian Walcott, Caden Scarborough, Josh Owens, Gio Rojas, and now Dylan Dreiling. Still, there are several more minor leaguers who quietly put in stellar years and deserve some recognition.

We have put together a list of three farmhands who, despite not receiving the same amount of hype as the organization's biggest rising stars, are right on the cusp of being grouped alongside them. Here are the players who are flying under the radar and who you could see at Globe Life Field sooner rather than later.

3 Rangers prospects who had under-the-radar phenomenal seasons

Rafe Perich - 3B/1B

The Rangers' 7th-round pick in the 2024 Amateur Draft, Rafe Perich, ended the season at Double-A Frisco after starting at High-A Hub City. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 225 pounds, Perich is a switch-hitting corner infielder who hits for both average and power. He was just named the Rangers minor league player of the year (Tom Grieve Player of the Year).

In 511 plate appearances with both the Spartanburgers and Rough Riders, Perich has slashed an impressive .315/.401/.586. Of his 140 hits, 62 went for extra bases, including 31 doubles and 27 jacks. He also knocked in 92 runs.

Perich is going to be 24 years old when the Rangers' 2027 camp starts in Surprise, Arizona, and we wouldn't be surprised if Perich makes a push to unseat Jake Burger at first base. He is a player to keep your eye on next season.

Jonah Bride - 1B/2B/3B

While not really a prospect, the 30-year-old Jonah Bride can play three different infield positions, making him a versatile defensive weapon who can also hold his own at the plate. He already has major league experience with the Marlins, Twins, and Athletics, so he is no stranger to the big leagues.

He spent all of 2026 with the Round Rock Express and put together another really solid year, slashing .278/.404/.413 over 119 games and 421 at-bats. Bride has an excellent feel for the strike zone and walked (90) more times than he struck out (80). He is a gap hitter who can also run into the occasional home run ball. He had 10 roundtrippers and 76 RBIs this past season.

For Bride, time is of the essence, as he is getting up there in age and risks becoming the dreaded ultimate "4-A" player like Justin Foscue was before finding his footing with the big-league club this year. Bride approaches every spring training with the intention of making the opening day roster because of his advanced age.

Seong-Jun Kim - SS/RHP

Kim may not be under the radar to some of the savvier Rangers fans, as he is the organization's No. 8-ranked prospect. Still, he had a remarkable season that some may not have noticed because he is only 19 years old and played all of 2026 in Single-A ball with the Hickory Crawdads.

Although he may be two or three years away from reaching Arlington, the team is very excited about what they have with the two-way threat. Kim slashed .287/.392/.522 with 8 homers and 37 RBI over 57 games with Hickory. He also looked promising on the mound, notching 20 Ks and a 0.57 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched.

It may be a small sample size, but Kim's stuff is electric. He can dial up a 95 mph four-seam fastball and will also mix in a steady diet of low-80s sliders and a mid-80s splitter. Still a teenager, he obviously needs more time to hone his considerable arsenal, but there is absolutely no rush with Kim. If all goes well in 2027, it is a reasonable goal to get to Double-A Frisco as a dual-threat.
