The 2026 World Baseball Classic might not be until next year but it's right around the corner and the international teams have already begun to prepare.
Team USA is no different than those, announcing that Mark DeRosa is returning as the team's manager alongside some of the sport's best players as his coaches. Included in that list is former Rangers' infielder Michael Young and current senior advisor to Chris Young, Skip Schumaker.
It was also announced last week that New York Yankees slugging outfielder Aaron Judge will not only participate in the tournament but was named captain of Team USA. A lot of speculation has begun about who will join Judge on the roster.
To add our two cents into the conversation, here are 3 Rangers' players that would be impactful additions to help USA get the gold next spring.
3 Rangers players that could help Judge lead Team USA to a gold medal in the WBC next spring
Nathan Eovaldi
This one probably isn't the most impactful addition but we are talking about a veteran pitcher who has thrived in clutch moments throughout his whole career. In 2023, he became the first pitcher to go 5-0 in a single postseason, getting out some miraculous jams consistently throughout his ALCS and World Series starts.
The right-hander from Texas might not be the flashiest option, especially with guys like Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes as options but Eovaldi would provide that veteran, hard-nosed mentaility. He would provide whatever value he could, even it required him to come out of the bullpen... which might be better for the Rangers to avoid any potential injury.
Nathan Eovaldi has been stupidly consistent for the last half-decade now.

Wyatt Langford
This one should be talked about more in people's predictions online about the roster construction. But it makes sense because for some reason, Langford has continually been getting overlook by the general MLB community. He has the potential to be the next biggest young breakout star in the league and he's from Florida, therefore he is eligible for Team USA.
Early on in his career, Langford is slashing .252/.326/.426 with 20 home runs, 80 RBIs, 26 doubles, 4 triples, 21 stolen bases and a .752 OPS in 146 games. While those aren't the biggest stand out numbers, Langford still has the most well-rounded games of any young star in the league. He might not start for Team USA but having Langford off the bench in pinch-hitting/running or occasional starting spots, there's not a lot of better options to have on your bench.
Corey Seager
The most obvious answer is Corey Seager. Same story as Eovaldi, one of the clutchest performers of the current baseball generation is Seager. He may be older than the other shortstop options (Bobby Witt Jr, and Gunnar Henderson) but he has the track record of continually being successful at the highest level.
Only thing I could see pursuaded Seager from not partcipating would be his commitment to the upcoming 2026 season. In the last edition of the WBC two years ago, we saw big-time players suffer injuries that caused them to miss significant time, Edwin Diaz and Jose Altuve to name a few. If Seager does show a desire to suit up for the team, don't see how DeRosa or any other decision maker could say no to what he brings to the table.
