Every team deals with injuries throughout a grueling 162-game schedule. Right now, the Texas Rangers are paper-thin with injuries to some key players who were expected to be big contributors this season.
Fortunately, three young prospects playing for the team's Triple-A affiliate in Round Rock are working their tail off to get a taste of life as a major leaguer, should they be needed. They could potentially soften the blow of injuries, both current and whatever will come over the summer.
Here are four Ranger farmhands who look poised to get the nod if and when their number is called.
Jonah Bride, 1B/3B
Even with Jake Burger enjoying his best stretch offensively, first base is still a position of need in the organization and Bride is as good a candidate as anyone.
In 2026, he is slashing .260/.385/.393 with four homers and a team-leading 30 RBIs. At 30 years old, Bride has seen action with three different big league teams, including most recently a 2025 season with the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins where he recorded a .276 average with 11 homers and 39 RBIs over 71 games.
Robby Ahlstrom, SP
Ahlstrom, 26, has been the most consistent reliever, logging 25.2 innings and allowing only 18 hits. His 3.16 ERA and 0.94 WHIP easily lead the team among non-starters.
The lanky, 6-foot-3, left-hander has been in the Rangers organization since 2022 and was a non-roster invite to spring training. He has fanned 29 hitters while also collecting two saves for the Express. The Rangers currently boast one of the best bullpens in baseball but you can never have too many quality arms.
That's how you end a game 🔥

Aaron Zavala, OF
Zavala is another member of the Express who was a whisker away from making the big league club following an impressive spring session in Surprise. He is really the only outfielder who is still on track to be called up in 2026, and if he keeps performing like he is, he will almost certainly get the call-up at some point this season.
A University of Oregon product, Zavala's frame is major-league-ready at 6 feet and an even 200 pounds. The 25-year-old is hitting .273 and has an .801 OPS, the highest mark on the Express. With Evan Carter's struggles and injury history, don't be surprised to see Zavala's name thrown around should Skip Schumaker need another outfield bat.
Cameron Cauley, INF/OF
Cauley was just a double short of the cycle on Wednesday for the Express going 4-for-5. He added his 14th stolen base for good measure and leads the team in hits and now has five homers and 18 RBIs.
The versatile utility man got off to a slow start after narrowly missing the big league squad out of spring camp, but has come on in recent weeks to log a slash of .255/.376/.391. He also has a plus plate discipline, gathering 30 walks in just 161 at-bats. If the issues with Corey Seager and Josh Smith persist, look for Cauley to be on the short list to get the call sooner rather than later.
