The Texas Rangers are done with the 2025 regular season and while planning for 2026 is likely already underway for the front office, they won't officially be able to do anything until the last out of the World Series is recorded.
From then, a lot of players will come off the Rangers' payroll. A majority of those are pitchers and Texas will need to figure out what to do about filling in the missing pieces they leave behind. Some will be easy, some will be a bit tougher.
Here's a full list of every member of the 2025 Texas Rangers that will hit free agency once the postseason comes to an end.
Full list of 2025 Texas Rangers hitting free agency this winter
Shawn Armstrong, RHP
In 71 games out of the bullpen, the 35-year-old was second on the team among relief pitchers in with a 2.31 ERA and tied for the most saves with nine. Armstrong signed a one-year, $1.2 million deal with Texas prior to the 2025 season.
Patrick Corbin, LHP
Joining the team shortly before Opening Day, Corbin was one of the more underrated additions for the Rangers this season. Making 30 starts for Texas, the lefty finished with a 7-11 record, 4.40 ERA, 131 strikeouts and a 1.36 WHIP in 155 1/3 innings of work.
Danny Coulombe, LHP
One of the Rangers' trade deadline acquisitions, Coulombe had a up-and-down journey in the second half with Texas. As a Ranger he made 15 appearances due to shoulder fatigue and pitched 12 innings to the tune of a 5.25 ERA and a staggering 1.67 WHIP.
Merrill Kelly, RHP
Perhaps the most shocking addition for Texas during the trade deadline was 35-year-old righty Merrill Kelly, giving up multiple top pitching prospects for his services. He was decent for the Rangers, finishing 3-3 with 46 strikeouts, 10 walks, 26 earned runs and a 1.25 WHIP in 15 games.
Tyler Mahle, RHP
Mahle was signed prior to 2024 while still recovering from Tommy John Surgery and only made 19 starts with Texas. However, he was really good for Texas with a 6-5 record, 2.54 ERA, 76 strikeouts and 33 walks in nearly 100 innings. Texas would love to have Mahle back next season.
Phil Maton, RHP
The third and final 2025 trade deadline add from St. Louis, Maton struggled to start his Texas tenure but honed in on being a trusted resource for Bochy late in games. Despite only pitching 23 innings for the Rangers, he recorded three saves and a 0.96 WHIP.
Billy McKinney, OF
Only recording 20 at-bats for the Rangers, the 31-year-old Plano native played in six games, hitting .200 with four hits and four runs scored. McKinney finished out the season with the big league club after Wyatt Langford's season was ruled over prior to the last series of the year.
Hoby Milner, LHP
Fans had a love-hate relationship with the sidearming southpaw but Milner was a consistent force in a steady bullpen for Bochy in 2025. Finishing with 73 games under his belt, he had a 3.84 ERA, 58 strikeouts and 18 holds in 70 1/3 innings.
Dylan Moore, INF/OF
Claimed off waiver from division rival Seattle in late-August, Moore ended up playing 18 games for Texas and slashed .259/.300/.481 with a .781 OPS, 2 home runs, six RBIs and six runs scored down the final month of the year. This is another utility player I'd imagine the Rangers would be open to have him returning.
Donovan Solano, INF
Rangers' fans might be wondering, we had Donovan Solano? Yes, for the final couple of games. Playing two games for Texas, he was nothing more than just a piece to fill the bench spot during the Cleveland series.
Rowdy Tellez, 1B/DH
To Rowdy with love, the Rangers owe a lot to Tellez down the stretch of the regular season. Clutch moment after clutch moment, it seemed Tellez was in the thick of it. He ended up hitting six home runs, driving in 22 runs and recording 53 total bases in 50 games with Texas. Tellez also had the final Rangers' home run of the year on Sunday in Cleveland.
