I have been a Ranger fan since they came to Texas in 1972. I went to my first MLB game that year and kept going out to the ballpark until I moved to California in 1992. I have managed to go to one game in the new ballpark but otherwise have to suffer through the highs and lows of the team, first through USA today box scores but now through the internet, where I can see games online. I love where the team is now even more because I remember things like Lenny Randle beating up manager Frank Luchesi in spring training, Brad Corbett hiring and firing Billy Martin even Ted Williams grumpy post game meetings with the press. Thanks to my math teacher Mr. Tilley, I learned algebra by figuring baseball stats by hand, showing my work. That was with Ranger stats. In spite of their recent success (which has been amazing), my favorite Ranger moment was in 1978, when I saw Richie Zisk hit a walk-off homer off of Goose Gossage against the hated Yankees. They weren't even called walk off's then.
