Not a shock that Jacob deGrom would be a feature on MLB Network's Top 100 Right Now list heading into the 2026 season after a resurgent season that saw him win American League Comeback Player of the Year.

deGrom, ranked 50th overall, joins teammates Wyatt Langford (69) and Nathan Eovaldi (64) on the list as the network revealed their 60-41 ranking on Thursday evening.

In 2025, the 37-year-old was an All-Star for the fifth time in his career and finished the year with his most starts, innings and strikeouts in a season since 2019 with the Mets. He compiled a 12-8 record, 2.97 ERA, 185 strikeouts, 37 walks and a 0.92 WHIP in 172.2 innings of work.

deGrom eyeing to keep up 2025 success this year

One of the best pitchers of his generation, deGrom has already proved to the league that he can get back to an elite level that we saw prior to his set of injuries from the early 2020s.

Yet he still has a lot to prove. Most importantly, that the 2025 season wasn't a fluke at this point in his career rather it was the beginning of another 2-3 year dominant stretch at the top of the league's pitching conversation.

Headlining a rotation next to Eovaldi and the potential breakout candidate Jack Leiter, deGrom is ready to help Texas stay at the top of the stat chart as one of the best rotations in Major League Baseball for the second-straight season.

What makes him think he can continue his success as he gets older? Well, last year he finally started to understand the concept of taking a few miles per hour off his fastball velocity and dominating with the stuff he has. He intentionally dialed down his velocity to start 2025 to give him longevity and in turn he got to his goal of 30 starts.

Easy guess is that he once again started to see success with the approach he took post-Tommy John surgery. He was the only pitcher in the Rangers' rotation to avoid a stint on the injured list and he's hoping to continue that trend in 2026.
