Another MLB trade deadline has passed, and multiple prospects are with new teams. The Texas Rangers ended up trading four of their prospects away, all of whom were a longshot to make next year's roster, to get a new pitcher and catcher.

While the Rangers only acquired one minor league player in a trade, several Rangers prospects were promoted to the next level, and now it's time to keep track of the names the organzation has faith in for 2025 and beyond.

Here are some guys fans must watch during the second half of the minor league season.

Emiliano Teodo

Teodo has made big strides in the minor leagues with the Frisco RoughRiders. Before the season started, he was rumored to be an option for the Rangers' bullpen. He has 91 strikeouts and a 1.77 ERA up to this point in the season. He was selected to participate in the 2024 MLB Futures Game. When he didn't make his scheduled start last weekend, fans thought he would get traded by the deadline this past Tuesday. He should make his first start later this week in San Antonio against the Missions.

Sebastian Walcott

Walcott is another encouraging player making strides. He's currently batting .251 with the Hickory Crawdads this season. Walcott had an excellent month of June to state his case for getting bumped up a level. Walcott has a mighty swing, making him a fun prospect to watch.

Depending on how he finishes the season with the Crawdads, he might get promoted to the RoughRiders to begin next season.

Kumar Rocker

Vanderbilt fans around Frisco were excited to hear that Rocker began his season with the Frisco RoughRiders last week. Even though Rocker's debut was short because Cody Bradford was in the middle of a rehab appearance, the right-hander did well.

In three innings, Rocker only allowed one hit and struck out four. His fastball and changeup are strikeout pitches and it's hopeful he continues on a positive path. The Rangers could have a good dilemma on their hands at spring training, with Teodo and Rocker bursting onto the scene with their improvements.

Alejandro Rosario

Rosario is another pitcher having a stellar season in the minors. He has 108 strikeouts in 15 games. Since being promoted to the Crawdads, some would probably consider him on a fast track to the Rangers. He could begin the season with the Frisco RoughRiders next season, but wouldn't be surprised if Rosario were in Round Rock in the blink of an eye — that's how good of a pitcher he's been this season.

Franyer Chavez

After the Rangers recalled Ezequiel Duran from the Express, Chavez was promoted to Round Rock. While Chavez doesn't have game-changing stats this season, his 30 RBI could help his stock for next season.

Most reporters believe Walcott is the future at shortstop. Unless Chavez can play another position on the field, it feels like the Rangers are trying to build up his trade value for next season. He does figure to have a pretty bright baseball future wherever he plays.
