At least the 2025 season wasn't a total waste for the Texas Rangers as multiple players are getting rightfully recognized for the work they put in on the defensive side this year.
Five Rangers are finalists for American League Gold Glove Awards at their respective positions: Jacob deGrom (P), Marcus Semien (2B), Corey Seager (SS), Wyatt Langford (LF) and Adolis Garcia (RF). That is tied for 3rd-most nominations this season, trailing the Cubs and Blue Jays.
As a team, the Rangers shared the best fielding percentage in Major League Baseball (.991) with Atlanta, committed the fewest errors (51), recorded 4,329 putouts and 1,364 assists. That could potentially make them a finalists for the AL Gold Glove team award, to be announced at a later date.
Here are the 5 Rangers nominated for a Rawlings Gold Glove in the American League
Jacob deGrom, P
The two-time Cy Young winner not only has a chance to win his first Gold Glove of his career but he's also nominated for AL Comeback Player of the Year by the Major League Baseball Players Association.
In his first fully healthy season since his 2019 year with the New York Mets, deGrom shined on the mound, including his defense. In 31 total chance throughout the year, deGrom did not commit an error, which is third-best in AL and his four defensive runs saved was tied for fifth-best.
Marcus Semien, 2B
Semien is a mark of true consistency at second base but it wasn't always that way. Early in his career, he struggled with his defense but put in the work was awarded his first and only Gold Glove during his 2021 campaign with Toronto.
Nominated back in 2023 with the Rangers, Semien ultimately lost out to Jose Altuve. This season he's matched up Luis Rengifo and Andrew Gimenez. In 2025, Semien led qualified AL second baseman with 5 DRS and 3rd with 7 outs above average. He also only committed two errors in 493 total chances.
Corey Seager, SS
Nominated alongside Bobby Witt Jr. and Taylor Walls, Seager had a career-best season at shortstop but was hampered by several IL stints and then had his season cut short in late-August due to appendicitis.
However, the 31-year-old set a career-high with 16 defensive runs saved (12 more than his 2024 total), which was second-most in AL behind fellow finalist Taylor Walls' 17 DRS. Seager was also the only AL shortstop to log 800+ innings with a position-leading .998 fielding percentage.
Wyatt Langford, LF
Quite an achievement for a young player who really only had his defense as the main cause for panic when he entered the league as a rookie last year.
Langford went to work to improve defensively and it showed not only with this nomination but the plays and versatility in the outfield at both left and center field. It led to a 12 DRS season (2nd to Steven Kwan) and five outs above average, tied-2nd with Kwan among American League left fielders.
Hey, so, Wyatt Langford is good at defense. That's a robbery. pic.twitter.com/04bpvhtVl2

Adolis Garcia, RF
Garcia has the biggest case to win among his four other teammates, which would be his second career Gold Glove if he was able to come away with the hardware.
After logging the most innings (1,124) by any American League right fielder in 2025, Garcia also logged the most chances (276) and putouts (268) along with the third-most assists (6). His 16 defensive runs saved were also the most in the entire MLB, leading Fernando Tatis Jr. and his fellow finalist in Boston and reigning RF Gold Glover, Wilyer Abreu.
