It might've taken him a second to get to this point but Texas Rangers prospect Dylan Dreiling is finally shining in the minor leagues.
In his first taste of Double-A, he's making it seem crazy that he wasn't in Frisco already. Hitting .360 and a 1.088 OPS to start the season, Dreiling has started out his third pro season as one of the best bats in the Texas League.
Despite how early it is in the season, his performance has made him the one to watch for. However, the Rangers and their fans shouldn't get too excited yet. The season did just start after all.
Ranger's prospect Dylan Dreiling has put in the work to get to this point
Drafted in the second round of the 2024 draft, the former Tennessee Volunteer and College World Series MVP struggled to start out his professional career, batting .198 in his 24 games with the Hickory Crawdads. Following the rather underwhelming debut, he spent the offseason focusing on how to stay within himself and not try to do too much.
"It's something I thought I did when I was in Hickory," said Dreiling on the DLLS podcast in 2025. "That's helped me a lot, and I'm just trying to take it day by day right now."
Help him, it did, because he found some footing in his first full season as a professional ballplayer. Hitting .226 in 110 games with High A- Hub City, Dreiling impressed the team brass enough that he was selected to play in the Arizona Fall league. There, he did even better hitting .271 with an .801 OPS in 48 appearances at the plate.
It was with those games last year that gave him the opportunity to finally play in Double-A. This season, it'll not only be important for him to 'keep up the good work' but also to show that he can actually be consistent at the professional level. Thankfully, that's something he's already gotten started on.
