The Texas Rangers roster is going to get a mini shakeup when a few young stars return from their stints on the injured list.

With the news of sending right-hander Nathan Eovaldi to the 15-day IL due to fatigue, that leaves a hole in the starting rotation which is going to be filled by Kumar Rocker. Evan Carter is also returning from his stint on the IL with a quad injury and will make that return on the road trip.

Everything you need to know about 3 Rangers players

Nathan Eovaldi

Eovaldi was placed on the injured list prior to Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals and it is expected that he will miss one or two starts. For those who haven't paid a lot of attention this week, Eovaldi was pulled from his last start after two scoreless innings.

It was revealed the be tricep fatigue and he woulnd't miss his next start. And while testing came back clear, Bruce Bochy decided to place him on the IL to get less stress on his arm as a precaution with six months left in the season.

Eovadli has been an AL Cy Young frontrunner this season with a 1.56 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings.

Kumar Rocker

Speaking of Eovaldi, right-hander Kumar Rocker is expected to make his return to the mound with the big league club this Wednesday in Eovaldi's rotation spot. Rocker went to the IL with a shoulder injury.

In Rocker's most recent rehab start in Triple-A Round Rock over the weekend, he threw four scoreless innings, struck out five and set down the first 12 batters he faced.

In eight games with the Rangers this year, Rocker has an 8.10 ERA and tough 1.75 WHIP in 20 innings of work.

Evan Carter

The 22-year-old outfielder is ready to make his return and will likely join the young outfield trio of Wyatt Langford and Alejandro Osuna when the Rangers take on the Rays in Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Carter made his season debut on May 6 against the Boston Red Sox and since has slashed .182/.270/.273 in 11 games this season. He had a giant impact in his first couple of games back but slowed down, then got hurt.

If they are able to get him back and going and team him up with Langford and Osuna, this could be the future of the Rangers bullpen.
