After three seasons the Texas Rangers bid farewell to the "Peagle" last year and will introduce the franchise's second iteration of Nike's City Connect jerseys in 2026 and we finally know when to expect to see them on the field.
While the design is unknown, the news is the Rangers were wear their new jersey on April 24, a home game against AL West rival Athletics.
Peagle made quite Iasting impression on Rangers' fans
The heart behind the Rangers first city connect jerseys told the history of Major League Baseball arriving in DFW when the organization relocated from Washington, D.C. to Arlington in the early 1970s.
A fixture of the hat was the mark "4-21" which was in reference to April 21, 1972, the first MLB game in Arlington. Between the hat, dark navy pants and cream colored jerseys, it was the Peagle that stole the show.
The mythical Griffin-like mascot of the Rangers' City Connect jerseys, the Peagle is a combination of the historic Dallas Eagles and Forth Worth Panthers, DFW-based minor league teams in the 1950s and 60s.

From the introduction of the jerseys in April 2023 through the 2025 season, the Rangers went an even 23-23 in the uniforms that were worn primarily for Friday home games. Their last game in this edition of the jerseys was a 6-4 loss to Miami on September 19, 2025.
The Rangers join the San Diego Padres, who will be retiring their "pink and mint" look, as the only teams currently confirmed to get a new design for their City Connect looks this season.
Since the Rangers already went with the deep history of bringing MLB to the Metroplex, fans are now hoping to incorporate older, throwback looks. Missing the beloved red jerseys, fans online are hoping to see incorporations of red in the new jersey.
The significance to the red, white and blue colors goes back all the way to their days in the nation's capitol. That rotation of colors has not changed despite moving to the Lone Star State until they ditched the red alternate prior to the introduction of the City Connect jersey three seasons ago.
