While the Texas Rangers try to figure out whether they'll be buyers or sellers at the end of the month, there's one player who has been at the center of trade rumors for months. Adolis Garcia seems all but gone, even if Chris Young decides to make a run for the postseason. A new rumor has him headed to the Bay Area to try and rejuvenate an offensive approach that has been heading downward for a few seasons now.

Garcia was once one of the most feared players in the Rangers' roster, especially after a World Series run that saw him post a career high 39 home runs and 127 OPS+. Unfortunately, this is looking like the second straight season where he'll post an OPS+ under 100, signifying a below-average offensive performance, especially at a position known for offense.

Adolis García trade rumors: Texas Rangers slugger reportedly on Giants’ radar ahead of deadline

Despite another step back offensively, Adolis Garcia was still mentioned as a possible target for the San Francisco Giants as they look to add some offense for their own postseason run. One Bay Area paper, the Enterprise Record pinpointed the Texas Rangers outfielder as one of five targets that might be worth pursuing.

Justice Delos Santos wrote that Garcia could help the Giants against left-handed pitchers, even if his whole season is not all that great.

"García is much more than a platoon bat, but with a career .720 OPS against lefties, he certainly stands to help in that department."

Of course, a look at Garcia's season so far would indicate that he's been the exact opposite as that kind of help. Against lefties this year he's OPSing just .566 versus a .711 OPS against righties.

Granted, it's a small enough sample size that he could return to his career numbers with a change of scenery.

The Giants are just one of many suitors that could come calling for Adolis Garcia if he's made available. The question continues to be if the Texas Rangers are willing to part with the World Series hero.
