As the Texas Rangers are officially back in the playoff race, one bullpen ace thinks he's seen a better atmosphere in the clubhouse. Fans can take that as a positive or a negative. However, it's clear that as the team has proven to itself and others that it's a contender, Shawn Armstrong has seen his teammates dial in a bit more.
This may be what happens when talking about a season that lasts for months. Players are pitching, hitting, and throwing from the beginning of Spring Training until the end of September at least. It's hard to stay totally dialed in and energized that entire time.
Shawn Armstrong thinks the Texas Rangers clubhouse is ramped up
Speaking to the Foul Territory podcast, Armstrong laid out how he's seen his Texas Rangers clubhouse energy pick up over the last few weeks.
"Hell yeah, we wanna get into October."

"I think we all feel it," Armstrong said. "We've had a lot of peaks and valleys over the course of the season that hasn't gone our way. And we've lost some close games that, obviously, we'd be sitting in a different situation if we would have won those games. But, I mean, the vibes in the clubhouse right now, they're really good."
Armstrong went on to talk about the energy not being excited just because they're winning more.
"Seager's coming back. You know, and then obviously we've had some daggers with some players that we've lost. But I think that, you know, every young guy that's kind of came up and had an opportunity is taking advantage."
"And I'd be lying to you, man. I think the energy over the past three or four weeks here has been, probably, better than it's been. You know, throughout the main part of the season. And I think every one of us believes in it."
Hopefully, the increased energy in the Texas Rangers clubhouse can allow the team to make that jump over the Seattle Mariners and into the final spot in the Wild Card, or even better into the top of the AL West.
