After grinding through a gauntlet, the Rangers are about to see some relief

The Rangers have played most of their games against teams with a .500 or better record this season. The schedule thankfully lightens up soon.

The schedule has not been favorable for the Texas Rangers so far in 2025. They have had a gauntlet to begin the year but that will start easing up and hopefully result in more wins.

The Rangers have had 4 games in the month of May against teams with a record below .500. After the conclusion of the Yankees series, that changes a lot.

Texas Rangers schedule about to get lighter

With the next month plus fully laid out, there are only 3 series in the next month that feature teams at or above a .500 record. This has to be the most crucial stretch of games all season for the Texas Rangers.

Their upcoming series is as follows:

  • 5/22-5/25 at the Chicago White Sox (15-35)
  • 5/26-5/28 vs the Toronto Blue Jays (23-24)
  • 5/30-6/1 vs the St Louis Cardinals (27-23)
  • 6/3-6/5 at the Tampa Bay Rays (23-26)
  • 6/6-6/8 at the Washington Nationals (22-27)
  • 6/10-6/12 at the Minnesota Twins (27-22)
  • 6/13-6/15 vs the Chicago White Sox (15-35)
  • 6/17-6/19 vs the Kansas City Royals (28-23)
  • 6/20-6/22 at the Pittsburgh Pirates (17-33)
  • 6/23-6/25 at the Baltimore Orioles (16-32)

With a combined 12 games vs 3 of the 4 worst teams in the MLB, the Rangers should be able to create some distance in the division. The AL West is currently a log jam that is unlikely to change anytime soon. 5 wins is the difference between first and 4th place today.

This is the time for the Texas Rangers to go on a run and figure out the offense. The pitching doesn't need to change at all for this to have a chance to be successful.

The pressure is fully mounted on Bruce Bochy's staff and the guys on the edge of being retained season long. Guys like Adolis Garcia, Joc Pederson, Jake Burger, etc. need to be ready to step up now or plan to play elsewhere for the rest of the season.

The most difficult part of the schedule is the road trip to Minnesota. The Twins are the first team to get 10+ wins in a row this season and have currently won 10+ in a row at home. That is a crucial series to try and steal.

Chris Young has been very observant and up front to media about his thoughts on the team so far. This stretch can save jobs and help Chris Young best build his plan heading into draft season and the trade deadline.

Most special seasons conclude in October but are made in a stretch in June. If this team is serious about playing until the World Series, it better be ready to form a run of greatness now and not wait until it is too late.
