Texas Rangers: The fourth victory in the World Series is the hardest one to get
One more, yes just one more win and the Texas Rangers are World Series champions. But how hard is that one last win to get?
The Texas Rangers were dealt some bad news before Game 4 last night as it was announced that ALCS MVP Adolis Garcia and future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer are done for the playoffs. It was not an easy thing to hear as a Rangers fan. However, Texas showed up and won 11 to 7 last night putting the Arizona Diamondbacks on the brink of elimination and the Rangers on the verge of their first title.
The one thing that Rangers fans need to realize going into tonight's game is the fourth victory in a championship series is the hardest one to win. The reason why it's so hard is the other team wants to keep their season alive and will throw the kitchen sink at you to play another game.
The Diamondbacks will be doing whatever they can do now to become the sixth team to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series. History is not on their side as there are only five teams that have pulled off this feat. The teams that have pulled off this feat are the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1925 and 1979, the New York Yankees in 1958, the Detroit Tigers in 1968, and the Kansas City Royals in 1985.
Bruce Bochy aims to finish the job
As I wrap up this article, I want Ranger fans not to hyperventilate tonight in front of their TV. More than likely, we will see Zac Gallen on the mound for the Diamondbacks as they fight to live another day and force a Game 6 back in Arlington on Friday night. However, we have a manager who has been in this position before in the World Series, especially in 2010 against the Rangers.
Bruce Bochy has won three World Series rings and knows how to get over the finish line. I expect his experience will come into play tonight as the Rangers look to clinch their first-ever title in franchise history.
I also want fans to not worry if the Rangers were to end up losing tonight. The Rangers seem to do good after a travel day while changing venues. Who also wouldn't want to win the World Series in front of your home crowd? Even though the fourth win to clinch a World Series is a tough game to win, I'm not worried since the Rangers have Bruce Bochy managing the team.
