Rangers' City Connect leak gets worse with every image we see

Seems the City Connect creativity was used up when creating the Peagle.

The retirement of the Peagle following the end of the 2025 season means an ushering in of a new look Rangers' City Connect jersey and let's just say, bring back the Peagle.

In an array of social media posts, the Rangers saw their rumored new jersey design get leaked alongside the Orioles, Pirates, Padres and Brewers. According to the post, Texas is making a fan favorite return to red but staying pretty simple with the word "Tejas" across the chest.

An accompanying hat was later leaked as well, all red, with the team's throwback Cooperstown Collection "T" as the centerpiece.

Ditching of the Peagle for simplicity is a failure

A lot of Nike's City Connect jerseys have been fails one way or another and even if it's not on the first try there's always going to be something fans don't like.

When it comes to version one of the Rangers' City Connect, it was the dark navy blue pants that wasn't the biggest hit. Eventually though, the general consensus was that the look was actually complementary, different from the normal and made Friday night home games unique the last three season.

Rangers even got the fan-favorite Peagle, a mythical Griffin-like mascot that signified the storied history of baseball in the DFW metroplex.

What is rumored to be replacing has a unique Mayan pattern on the sleeves and inside the hat with "Viva Tejas" on the lower left side of the jersey top. All that said, it lacks a standout quality and seems plain. It's hard to go from a "TX" logo with a spur on the cap and jersey, cream color top, navy blue pants and red accents to plain red.

While this is still yet to be confirmed, rumors of City Connect jerseys have been a thing since their introduction in Major League Baseball in 2023. Most of the time, these rumors have been correct because they usually leak from retailers that have gotten shipments of the jerseys prior to their public release.
