Spring training is inching back into the atmosphere and soon Surprise Stadium will be crawling by Texas Rangers' players.
The Rangers will get their 2026 journey started next week as pitchers and catchers report to Arizona. The team is attempting to get back on track after failing to make the postseason the past two seasons and an offseason that saw massive shifts in the makeup of rosters.
Before the start of the regular season, here are a few key dates in February and March to mark on the calendar.
Rangers spring training report dates, location & other important dates to know
Pitchers and catchers report: Tuesday, February 10
The pitching staff and catchers will head to Surprise Stadium to kick off their spring. Among the biggest name is recently acquired lefty MacKenzie Gore, a rebuilding bullpen and the first season of Danny Jansen in replace of Jonah Heim.
First full squad workouts: Sunday, February 15
The rest of the crew arrives the following week. It will be the first time the fans get a chance to see Brandon Nimmo in replace of Adolis Garcia in right field, a hopeful return of Evan Carter and a positive bounceback Jake Burger, Josh Jung and Joc Pederson.
First spring training game: Friday, February 20
As is customary, the Rangers will open the spring schedule at Surprise Stadium in Surprise against their roommates the Kansas City Royals. It will be the first of 26 games in Arizona, featuring an exhibition against Team Brazil, mixed with a couple being split squad and two final games at home on March 23 and 24 before the start of the season.
Opening Day: Thursday, March 26
The Rangers open up the 2026 schedule on the road for the first time since 2022 against Adolis Garcia and the Philadephia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. While it has not been announced yet, the game is expected to be televised on Rangers Sports Network and streamed via Victory+. Their game in Philly will be the first of a six-game road trip before opening their home schedule on April 3 against the Cincinatti Reds.
