4 Rangers in Top 100 Right Now

The Texas Rangers enter the 2026 season with four players inside MLB Network's Top 100 Right Now list. Starting with third-year outfielder Wyatt Langford at No. 69 and one of Rangers' elite veteran arms in Nathan Eovaldi at No. 64.

Jacob deGrom also joined them on the list, ranked 50th overall, which represented a rise of 49 spots on the list after barely sneaking in to the Top 100 in 2025 at No. 99. Then of course, Corey Seager's presence on the list at 27th overall.

5-for-1 trade lands MacKenzie Gore

Texas is now responsible for two of the more shocking trades of the offseason after acquiring left-hander MacKenzie Gore earlier this week but it cost a pretty penny. On top of sending their 2025 first round pick to Washington, four other prospects among the organization's top 30.

Gore makes the Rangers' rotation one of the best in the league pairing him with deGrom, Eovaldi, Jack Leiter and Jacob Latz, who is eyeing and preparing to land that fifth rotation spot this spring.

Prospect & farm system rankings entering 2026

We spoke of getting rid of five prospects in the Gore trade but even before that, Texas was ranked among the bottom five farm systems in Baseball America's 2026 rankings. Easy to imagine that Texas's farm might not fall any lower but it's not going to be positive movement on that list anytime soon.

There is a silver lining to this as shortstop Sebastian Walcott is among the best prospects in Major League Baseball coming in at seventh-overall in MLB Pipeline's Top 100 while pitcher Caden Scarborough is rising quickly through the league-wide ranks.

Rangers add more bullpen depth

In addition to dealing out a minor league deal with a spring training invite to former Rangers' World Series champion Josh Sborz, Texas also added former Rockie Austin Gomber to a similar deal.

Sborz, 32, hasn't pitched since the 2024 season after undergoing and rehabbing shoulder surgery. He did return to the mound in the minor leagues but didn't show enough progress to warrant his return to the big leagues. Gomber made 12 starts for Colorado last year, compiling a 7.49 ERA with 34 strikeouts.
